Terms of Service

Version 2026-06-12. These terms are a contract between you and Norudit Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17351666), registered office Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom, which operates The Norudit Academy (“Norudit”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account you accept them and the Privacy Policy.

1. The service

Norudit is a learning system: it ingests material you provide, builds a structured study sequence, schedules reviews, estimates mastery, and provides AI tutoring, planning, and research tools. It is a study aid. It does not replace your school, teachers, or your own judgement, and we do not guarantee any particular grade, exam result, or academic outcome.

2. Eligibility & accounts

  • You must be at least 13 (or the digital-consent age in your country, if higher, unless a parent/guardian consents).
  • Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
  • One person per account. Accounts are not transferable.

3. Your content

  • You retain ownership of everything you upload. You grant us the licence needed to operate the service on it (storage, retrieval, AI processing), nothing more. We do not sell it or train public models on it.
  • Only upload material you are entitled to use for your own study. You are responsible for ensuring your uploads don't infringe others' rights.
  • Outputs generated for you (summaries, questions, reports) are yours to use for your learning. AI outputs can be wrong. See §5.

4. Acceptable use

  • No attempts to extract other users' data, probe security, or overload the service (rate limits are enforced).
  • No use of the service to violate your school's academic-integrity rules. Norudit is deliberately designed to teach rather than do your work: its assistants will decline to hand over homework answers, and circumventing that is a misuse of the service.
  • No unlawful, harmful, or abusive content or use.
  • No attempts to jailbreak, prompt-inject, or circumvent the safety systems of the AI features; no reverse-engineering or extraction of the models, prompts, or weights behind the service; and no using Norudit's outputs to train, fine-tune, or build a competing AI or dataset.

5. AI limitations

Grades, mastery estimates, schedules, and explanations are produced by statistical models and are provisional by nature. They can be wrong, incomplete, or miscalibrated. They are not professional, medical, legal, or official academic advice, and no exam outcome is promised. The Independent Research feature refuses to propose dangerous experiments; never act on any output that would put you or others at risk.

6. Subscriptions & billing

  • Paid tiers are billed through our payment provider (Polar). Prices, included usage, and limits are shown at purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Prices are shown inclusive of any applicable VAT/sales tax, and we give reasonable advance notice of any price change before it applies.
  • Fair-use limits apply to AI features; we may throttle abusive usage.
  • Cancellation (Settings, or via Polar) stops future renewals, effective at the end of the current period. Separately from our goodwill refund (one per account within the first 14 days of first subscription, from Settings), UK/EU consumers keep the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. Because Norudit is digital content supplied immediately, starting to use a paid feature within that window is a request for immediate performance and waives the statutory right for the portion already supplied. Your other statutory rights are unaffected.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time (Settings), which deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms, with notice where practicable.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Norudit is provided “as is”; we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is capped at the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (e.g. for fraud). Statutory consumer rights, including those of minors, are unaffected.

9. Changes

We may update the service and these terms; material changes will be notified in-app and your account records the version you accepted. Continued use after notice means acceptance.

10. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, without removing the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, which continue to apply. If something goes wrong, please email [email protected] first so we can try to resolve it within 30 days. As a consumer you keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your home country.

11. Our intellectual property

Your uploads and the AI outputs generated for you are yours (see §3). Everything else (the Norudit software, design, interface, prompts, models, and the “Norudit” name and logo) belongs to us or our licensors. You get a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the service; you may not copy, resell, scrape, or create derivative works of the service itself.

12. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on Norudit infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with a description of the work, the infringing material, your contact details, and a good-faith statement. We review such notices, remove infringing material, and may suspend repeat infringers.

13. Language

We may offer these terms and the Privacy Policy in several languages for your convenience. The English version is the authoritative, legally binding one; if a translation conflicts with it, the English version prevails.

14. General

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still apply. These terms are the whole agreement between us about the service. We may assign them to a successor (for example, on a sale of the business); you may not. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. We are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing here creates a partnership or agency between us.
